This project explored the design of flexible oscillating heat pipes (OHPs) to improve thermal management systems for electronics in dynamic environments. I created 12 unique OHP geometries using SolidWorks and FEA simulations, focusing on reducing structural rigidity while maintaining thermal performance. These designs were fabricated using metal 3D printing and tested for flexibility using an Instron machine. The project demonstrated that geometry-based design can enable heat pipes that are both efficient and mechanically compliant—ideal for aerospace and robotics applications.
